The SEER rating is crucial because it directly relates to the operational cost of the air conditioner. An air conditioner with a higher SEER uses less electricity for the same cooling, saving you money on energy bills.
As of January 1, 2023, the Department of Energy (DOE) will introduce the new SEER2 standard. SEER2 keeps the basic ideas of SEER but improves the testing methods to better match real-life situations.

Which one to buy?
If wanting a longer warranty, wider operating temperatures if you live in a more extreme climate, and higher efficiency rating, the DIY 4th Generation Series is the better choice despite being more expensive.
However, if these factors are not top priorities for you, the Easy Pro Series is still a great option.
Both series qualify for tax and energy rebates and can be installed by yourself.
